Tinubu Presides Over FEC Meeting, Swears In Commissioner, Pays Tribute to Late Minister

President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting commenced with the swearing-in of Nnana Uzor Kalu as the commissioner representing the Southeast in the National Assembly Service Commission. This move strengthens regional representation in the nation’s legislative affairs.

Following the brief oath-taking ceremony, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the late Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade. The deceased was a former cabinet member who served in various capacities under President Goodluck Jonathan, including Minister of Special Duties and Minister of Police Affairs. He also served as the military administrator of Bayelsa State during the Abacha regime. He passed away on May 11, 2025.

In attendance at the FEC meeting are key government officials, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of the Civil Service Dr. Didi Walson-Jack, and several ministers. The meeting signals continued efforts by the Tinubu administration to reinforce governance and institutional functions.
