A proposed Bill aimed at encouraging international companies to establish offices and expand their operations in Nigeria, receiveed overwhelming support at the senate for legislative designed to create a more business-friendly environment, attract foreign investment, and strengthen the country’s position as a leading investment destination in Africa.
Lawmakers said the proposed legislation would help reduce barriers faced by foreign businesses while promoting policies that encourage long-term investments. They noted that attracting more international firms could boost economic growth, increase competition, and improve the transfer of technology and expertise to local industries.
The Senate also emphasized that the initiative could create thousands of employment opportunities for Nigerians, stimulate entrepreneurship, and increase government revenue through taxes and other economic activities. According to the lawmakers, expanding the presence of global companies in Nigeria would support industrial development and enhance the country’s overall business climate.
The bills will continue to undergo the legislative process before they can become law.
