The United States President, Donald Trump, has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a non-life-threatening vein condition, following concerns over visible swelling in his legs, the White House confirmed on Thursday.
White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, told reporters that the 79-year-old president underwent a comprehensive medical evaluation after recent public appearances raised questions about his health, particularly after observers noted swelling in his lower limbs and bruising on one hand.
According to Leavitt, the president’s medical team conducted “diagnostic vascular studies, including bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasounds,” which confirmed the presence of chronic venous insufficiency.
She described the condition as “benign and common, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”
