In a shocking incident in Calabar, Cross River State, a police inspector, Effiong Bassey, went on a shooting spree, killing one civilian and injuring two others. The event unfolded early in the morning after Bassey returned from his night duty at a microfinance bank in Calabar South.

Upon arriving at the Atakpa Divisional Police Station, he refused to surrender his AK-47 rifle, became hostile, and blocked the station’s gate, preventing entry and exit.
