Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan Denies Apologizing for Suspension, Vows to Stand Firm

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central has dismissed claims that she apologized to the Nigerian Senate over the controversy leading to her six-month suspension. In a statement on March 24, 2025, she labeled the reports as “false and misleading,” reaffirming her stance and denying any retraction of her position.

She condemned the spread of misinformation, accusing certain individuals of distorting facts to mislead the public. The senator, who was suspended after a heated exchange with Senate leadership, insisted she remains committed to defending her constituents’ rights and standing by her principles.

Emphasizing that she will not be intimidated, Akpoti-Uduaghan described the situation as an attempt to silence her voice in the National Assembly. She urged Nigerians to be wary of false narratives and assured her supporters of her continued dedication to truth and justice. She also clarified that any official statements from her would come only from her verified channels.
