Nigeria Has the Most Frequent Flyers, Passenger Numbers Grow by 10,000- Kenya Airways

Kenya Airways has revealed that Nigerians are its top frequent flyers, highlighting the importance of the Nigerian market to the airline. Speaking at a press conference in Ikeja, Lagos, Ngamau Stephen, Regional Manager for America and West Africa, shared that Nigeria was one of the first markets to experience the airline’s ‘Asante’ frequent flyer program, launched two years ago. Since then, Nigerians have remained the most frequent travelers with the airline.

IKenya Airways expanded its Lagos flight schedule from 7 to 10 weekly flights in 2024, boosting capacity by 21%. Between 2023 and 2024, the airline saw a 10,000-passenger increase from Nigeria.

The airline is open to collaborations with Nigerian domestic carriers to improve connectivity. Kenya Airways appreciated the Nigerian government for addressing airlines’ trapped funds, which previously hindered operations.

Kenya’s visa waiver for Nigerians and most African countries is expected to boost travel and tourism.
New UK Route. Kenya Airways has introduced London Gatwick as a second gateway to the United Kingdom, complementing its London Heathrow operations.

To enhance the travel experience, Kenya Airways is also introducing stopover packages in Nairobi, allowing passengers to explore Kenya’s culture, wildlife, and landscapes while in transit.
