Over 5,000 Schools Destroyed by Insurgency in Borno — Zulum

More than five thousand school structures is said to have been destroyed across Borno state during the over-a-decade-long  Bokk Haram insurgency.

Governor Babagana Zulum, who made the disclosure stated that the destruction significantly disrupted the education sector, leaving many communities without adequate learning facilities and making it difficult for children in affected areas to access quality education.

According to Governor Zulum noted that, rebuilding the damaged schools remains an important part of the state’s efforts to restore normalcy and improve access to education, particularly in communities that were heavily affected by the insurgency.

He stressed the need for continued support and investment in the education sector, saying the reconstruction of schools would help provide children with safe learning environments and contribute to the long-term recovery and development of Borno State.
