Reacting to claims concerning his political future ahead of the 2027 governorship election, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue state has made it clear that no individual can decide his political future.

Governor Alia made the statement while reacting to claims linked to the state former governor and now Secretary to the Government of the Federati9n, George Akume, affirming that only the people of Benue have the power to determine who leads them. Adding that, his chances of getting a second term will depend on his performance, credibility, and what he has achieved while in office not political influence from anyone.
He stressed that elections are decided by the people, not by powerful individuals, adding that leaders who fail to deliver will face the judgment of the people.
