Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been granted bail by the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta following his arraignment on a five-count charge, including conspiracy, assault, and obstruction of government officials.
Portable, who surrendered to the police after being declared wanted, pleaded not guilty. His counsel assured the court of his remorse, leading Magistrate O. L. Oke to grant him bail at N2 million with one surety in like sum. The case was adjourned to March 5 for trial.
Nine of his aides were also arraigned on similar charges. The Ogun State Government condemned Portable’s actions, labeling him a “serial dissident.” The charges stemmed from a February 5 incident where Portable and his associates allegedly attacked three town planners at his bar in Sango, Ogun State.
