The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended seven individuals for engaging in unlawful petroleum-related operations. This was confirmed through an official announcement made via the Corps’ X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday.
The arrests were made by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad during a targeted operation aimed at curbing the illegal trade in petroleum products. As part of the crackdown, five suspected illegal oil storage sites were sealed.
In addition to the arrests and site closures, the squad impounded several trucks found to be transporting petroleum products suspected to be of illegal origin. The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing fight against the illegal petroleum trade across the country.
