The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Delta State chapter, has announced plans to hold a memorial service and novelty march in honor of Jnr Pope and four other victims of the Anam River boat mishap that occurred on April 10, 2024.

A source confirmed that a planning committee has been set up for the event, which will take place at a Catholic Church in Asaba, Delta State, marking the one-year anniversary of the tragedy.
Meanwhile, Pastor Joseph Lazarus, father of the late sound engineer Olanti, has accused film producer Adanma Luke of abandonment. He revealed that after his son’s passing, she only sent ₦300,000 and has since not reached out to his family.
Lazarus, who is the Senior Pastor of God’s Salvation Miracle Centre, Asaba, described his son as the breadwinner of the family and said he has been struggling financially, including paying his house rent.
The boat mishap, which claimed the lives of Jnr Pope and four colleagues, sparked public outcry and an investigation, with Adanma Luke facing backlash over her handling of the tragedy.
