Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has that the state government is committed to restoring peace and protecting lives and property, stressing that the government would no longer tolerate any individual or group aiding insecurity under any guise.
Bago emphasized that the warning is directed at criminals and their collaborators, not at any ethnic group as a whole. He noted that many law-abiding Fulani people have also suffered from the activities of kidnappers and bandits, and called for collective efforts to rid the state of criminality.
Govrrnor Bago warned members of Fulani communities across the state against harboring or collaborating with kidnappers and other criminal elements. Adding that anyone found supporting criminal activities would face the full weight of the law.
He urged traditional rulers and community leaders to help identify and expose those involved in kidnapping and banditry.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to work closely with security agencies and local communities to strengthen intelligence gathering and improve security across Niger State. He encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
