More than a decade after their abduction by Boko Haram in April 2014, Hollywood actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has joined an exhibition serves as a tribute honoring the missing Chibok schoolgirls while renewing global calls for justice and the safe return of those who remain unaccounted for.
The Chibok abduction, in which 276 schoolgirls were kidnapped from their secondary school in Borno State, shocked the world and sparked the global #BringBackOurGirls campaign. While some of the girls have managed to escaped ftom their abductors, some been rescued, dozens are still missing more than ten years later.
Jolie’s participation highlights the importance of keeping the plight of the missing girls in the international spotlight.
