
Makemation, the first African feature film centered on artificial intelligence, is set for a groundbreaking release in Lagos, Nigeria, on April 18, 2025, with an international rollout following in May.

Produced by Rise Interactive Studios & Rise Networks and directed by Michael “AMA PSALMIST” Akinrogunde, Makemation features a diverse cast, including Nollywood stars, tech experts, and emerging social media personalities. It explores themes such as STEM education, financial literacy, digital skills, and gender equality while advocating for greater technological accessibility and inclusion.
Creator and producer Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji describes the film as more than entertainmentit’s a movement aimed at sparking conversations and policy changes on AI’s role in Africa’s future.
