Acting Shira LG Chairman Wali Adamu Passes Away After Brief Illness

The Acting Chairman of Shira Local Government Area in Bauchi State, Wali Adamu, has died following a brief illness. His passing was confirmed in a press release by Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Bauchi State, on Sunday. Adamu died at the Federal Medical Centre, Azare. Governor Bala Mohammed expressed deep condolences to Adamu’s family, the Katagum Emirate Council, and the people of Bauchi State, praising the late chairman as a dedicated public servant who significantly contributed to the development of Shira Local Government and the state.

The governor urged sympathisers to keep the family in their prayers, and announced that the funeral prayer would be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the residence of the late Alkali Musa in Azare. He prayed for Allah to grant Adamu eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus. Adamu had recently assumed leadership of the local council in March after spearheading the impeachment of the former chairman, Abdullahi Beli, and his deputy, Usman Adamu.
