A strong warning has been issued by the police against any planned protest around Aso Rock and its surrounding areas after a Federal High Court order in the case of Federal Republic of Nigeria v. Omoyele Sowore and 4 others, which restrained individuals and groups from holding protests within and around the Presidential Villa.

A statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that he police emphasized that it would ensure public order, free traffic flow, and the safety of citizens while enforcing the court’s order. He warned that anyone or group using the protests as a cover for violence, vandalism, or the use of offensive weapons would be dealt with decisively. Offenders would face arrest, investigation, and prosecution under laws related to public order, terrorism, or violent conduct.
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has instructed the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory and relevant commands to strictly enforce the order and ensure strategic deployment across sensitive areas in Abuja.
