The Nigerian Senate has pledged to expedite the passage of the Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS) Bill to enhance national security.

Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, made this commitment during a courtesy visit by NFSS Commander General, Dr. Wole Joshua Osatimehin, and his delegation.
Jibrin highlighted the NFSS’s crucial role in combating banditry, terrorism, and kidnapping within the nation’s forests.
He assured full Senate support, promising to pass the Bill before recess. Osatimehin emphasized the NFSS’s contributions to intelligence gathering and crime prevention, while NFSS Deputy Commander General, John Metchie, lauded the broad legislative backing for the Bill, urging collaboration to secure its final approval.
