The Chartered Institute of Power Engineers of Nigeria (CIPEN) has called on the Federal Government to rely on local professionals to address the country’s ongoing power sector challenges. CIPEN President, Mr. Israel Abraham, emphasized that the government must trust its engineers rather than seeking foreign expertise.

Abraham urged policymakers to engage Nigerian power experts in discussions to find sustainable solutions. He also advocated for decentralized power networks and increased reliance on renewable energy sources like solar to improve electricity access, especially in rural areas.
CIPEN is actively collaborating with government agencies to enhance the power sector.
