Popular Nigerian social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force on May 2, 2025. The arrest occurred at a GTBank branch in Abuja, as confirmed by his lawyer, Denise Adeyanju, via posts on his X account.
According to Adeyanju, VDM was taken into custody alongside his friend, C Park, while his mother, who was present, was left alone. The reason for the arrest remains unclear at this time.
This incident follows a previous episode in November 2024, when VDM was detained by the police after voluntarily honouring an invitation. As of now, the police have not released an official statement regarding the latest arrest, and more information is expected to surface in the coming days. Adeyanju has criticized the police action, stating that demanding accountability should not be treated as a crime.
