Former Rivers State Head of Service, George Nwaeke, has denied claims that he was kidnapped after making critical statements about Governor Sim Fubara.

His wife had earlier declared him missing, suggesting he was forced into making the allegations. However, in a newly surfaced video, Nwaeke clarified that he is in Abuja, staying at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, where he voluntarily traveled to report concerning developments in Rivers State to security agencies.
He explained that he resigned from his position due to distressing events in the state and felt compelled to bring them to the attention of security authorities. Nwaeke also alleged that false information was fed to his wife, leading her to believe he had been abducted. Reaffirming his safety, he insisted that his visit to Abuja was of his own accord and that he would be meeting with security agencies to formally present his concerns.
