Former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi has distanced himself from an alleged gathering of All Progressives Congress (APC) members where his name was mentioned. In a statement on X, Obi clarified that he does not engage in toxic politics, blackmail, or manipulation and warned against associating his name with misleading political narratives.

Reaffirming his political stance, Obi stated that he is not a member of APC and has no intention of joining. He emphasized that political aspirants should be judged on competence and vision rather than partisan affiliations. Addressing speculations about Valentine Ozigbo, he urged for fair and merit-based evaluations.
With the Anambra governorship election approaching, Obi called for credible and democratic primaries across all parties. He urged stakeholders to reject divisive politics and uphold justice to move Nigeria toward true democracy.
