President Bola Tinubu condoles with the government and people of Benue State on the passing of Chief Audu Ogbeh, the former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

President Tinubu also commiserates with the late statesman’s family, friends and associates.
Also, the Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya has expressed profound sorrow over the death of elder statesman and former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development,.

In a message of condolence, on behalf of his colleagues in the Forum, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described Chief Ogbeh as a towering political figure, a statesman of uncommon intellect, and an iconic son of Northern Nigeria who devoted his life to national development and public service.
In a statement, Adegbe Ogbeh, the eldest son on behalf of the family, confirmed that Chief Ogbeh died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Saturday on 9th August 2025 Saturday at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
Former preaident of the aenate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki in a post described chief Ogbeh “As man deeply rooted in good values and genuinely concerned for the interest of the people he served. Our nation has lost a voice of reason and a heart of service.”
Chief Audu Ogbeh was described by PDP members as a symbol of service and commitment to Nigeria, and the PDP, he tried his best in repositioning the party and contributed his part to the agricultural sector of this country
Born on July 28, 1947, in Otukpo, Benue State, Ogbeh’s distinguished career spanned academia, agriculture, and politics, leaving an enduring legacy of integrity and service.
Chief Ogbeh also served Nigeria in several administrations, including as Minister of Communications (1982) and Minister of Steel and Developemnt (1983). and later as Minister of Agriculture under President Muhammadu Buhari.
