Parents of 37 Dead Alleged Illigal Miners Demand Accountability From NSCDC

Parents of artisanal miners who died while in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Minna, Niger State, have deaths have caused significant pain and hardship for the affected families, who are now seeking justice and accountability for the incident.

The families argued that compensating the families would help address some of the consequences of the loss while ensuring that the circumstances surrounding the deaths are properly investigated.

The parents also said appropriate compensation could serve as a deterrent against abuse of power and promote greater accountability among law enforcement personnel.
