Presidency Dismissed Report on Gbajabiamila’s Removal as Chief of Staff

The Presidency has urged Nigerians to completely disregard the report claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, with his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola. It described the report as false and misleading.

In a statement released issued on December 25, 2025, the President’s advisor on communication and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga said the viral claim circulating on social media had no basis in truth.
According to the Presidency, Femi Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff, while Hakeem Muri-Okunola continues to serve as the Principal Private Secretary. There has been no change in their official roles.
The statement further blamed the false report on individuals spreading fake news to cause confusion and disharmony within government. The Presidency advised media organisations and the public to always verify information before publishing or sharing it.
