Accorfing to an eyewitness account on the violent attack on the Ipele community, said it was a terrorist assault carried out by about 20 armed attackers. According to the account, the assailants arrived in a commando-style operation, firing sporadically before launching an attack on the Police Divisional Station in the area.
The attack caused widespread panic among residents, many of whom reportedly fled into nearby bushes to escape the gunfire. The eyewitness said the sounds were terrifying and overwhelming, leaving the community unable to resist or contain the situation.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Abayomi, said the attack did occur but noted that full details were still unclear and would be released later. Meanwhile, state security operatives have been deployed to Ipele to restore calm and stabilize the area.
