Police Arrests Man For Setting Ex-Girlfriend Ablaze in Oyo State

The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed that a man identified as Lawal Faruq has been arrested for allegedly setting his e-girlfriend, Omolola Hassan, on fire at a military barracks in Ibadan. Reports revealed that the suspect acted out of rage after their relationship ended, claiming that both had previously taken an oath never to separate.

The Police spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso  stated that an investigation is ongoing. The police are yet to release further details on the victim’s condition or the outcome of the investigation.

According to eyewitnesses, Faruq doused Omolola with petrol and set her ablaze. Fortunately, military personnel within the barracks quickly intervened, extinguished the flames, and rushed the victim to Yawiri Hospital, Akobo, for urgent medical attention. The suspect was immediately apprehended and is currently in police custody.
