According to Police PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Usman confessed to leading a deadly gang responsible for several high-profile kidnappings and murders, including that of a medical doctor and a family in Delta State.

Usman led police to the gang’s hideout along the Asaba/Agbor Expressway, where officers were ambushed by armed gang members. In the ensuing gun battle, four gang members were neutralized, and three AK-47 rifles along with 90 rounds of ammunition were recovered.
