Pastor Enenche Explains Why He Rejected N30 Million from Kebbi Governor

Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, recently revealed why he rejected a N30 million donation from Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris during a crusade in the state. Speaking during a sermon in Abuja, Enenche explained that the decision was not personal but based on a long-standing principle of avoiding political or governmental financial influence in his ministry. He emphasized that for over twenty years, he has maintained a strict policy of keeping his church financially independent from public officeholders.

To support his stance, Enenche cited several past examples, including his refusal to accept honorariums after participating in national assignments. One such instance was a 2014 pilgrimage to Jerusalem with then-President Goodluck Jonathan, where he covered his own expenses and rejected any offered compensation. He also mentioned that despite President Jonathan visiting his church multiple times, no financial relationship was ever established. According to him, even the construction of the church’s headquarters was done without a single naira from government funds.

Enenche further shared how he turned down gifts from political figures, including a car offered by a childhood friend who later became a government minister, and financial support from former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom. He stressed that accepting public funds could compromise his spiritual integrity and hinder his ability to boldly speak truth to power. By staying financially detached from the government, he believes he protects both his prophetic role and the purity of his ministry’s mission.
