Vice President Kashim Shettima has said that the federal government landmark initiative, Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has provided crucial financial relief to students from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds.
Shettima noted that the education loan scheme is designed to ensure that financial difficulties do not prevent qualified Nigerian students from pursuing higher education. NELFUND was established to provide financial support for eligible students to cover education-related expenses.
The Vice President said the initiative represents an important step towards making tertiary education more accessible and inclusive. He stressed that students should be able to pursue their academic ambitions based on their ability and determination rather than the financial capacity of their families.
Shettima’s remarks highlight the Federal Government’s position that NELFUND can help expand access to higher education, particularly for students from low-income households.
