The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, has praised the Military Reference Laboratory at Mogadishu Cantonment and the Military Medical Centre in Wuse 2, Abuja, as a world-class institution with state-of-the-art equipment. She made the remarks during a facility tour on Monday aimed at strengthening collaboration between NAFDAC and the military medical establishment.
Prof. Adeyeye emphasised the importance of partnerships with institutions like the Military Medical Centre, noting that NAFDAC also operates a top-tier Vaccine, Biologics, and Medical Devices Laboratory in Yaba, Lagos. She highlighted that both labs are equipped to deliver internationally recognised test results.
Expressing surprise at the facility’s sophistication, she noted that many Nigerians are unaware of its existence and capabilities. She called for greater visibility and collaboration, urging a shift away from the notion that high-quality medical science can only be found abroad.
Conducted around the facility by Brig. Gen. I.B. Solebo, the Centre’s Director-General, Prof. Adeyeye commended the staff for their professionalism and discipline. She urged Nigerians to support the Centre and recognise its potential to reshape the country’s scientific and medical landscape.
