After years of violent crime and evading justice, a notorious cultist and suspected hired killer has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command. Identified as a 44-year-old kingpin, the suspect was captured in Agbado, Ogun State, following a meticulous operation by the Tactical Squad codenamed “Silence, Speed and Surprise.” According to Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the arrest brings an end to the suspect’s reign of terror that had plagued Mushin and nearby areas for over a decade.

The suspect was described as one of the most wanted criminals in Lagos’ recent history, having orchestrated a series of violent acts, including armed robberies, murders, kidnappings, and cult killings from 2009 to 2024. His activities spread fear among residents, destabilized communities, and traumatized several families. Despite fleeing across states to escape justice, the police remained relentless in their pursuit, culminating in his eventual capture.
During the raid on his Mushin residence, police recovered a large cache of weapons and evidence of his criminal operations. The items seized included multiple rifles, pistols, ammunition, walkie-talkies, and nine international passports belonging to different individuals. This discovery confirmed his deep involvement in organized crime and strengthened the case against him. Already, four families have identified him as the killer of their loved ones.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Owohunwa Jimoh, has ordered a broader investigation to apprehend the suspect’s accomplices. He reassured the public that their safety is the police’s top priority and praised the officers for their bravery. Jimoh also called on residents to stay vigilant and support law enforcement efforts by providing credible information. The suspect remains in custody and will face full prosecution as the Command intensifies its fight to rid Lagos of criminal elements.
