Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has broken her silence regarding her legal battle with former manager Ezekiel ThankGod, also known as Eezeetee.

In a statement shared on Instagram and signed by her lawyer, she denied initiating any lawsuit against him over her music catalogue or revenue split. Mercy recounted their professional relationship, which began in Port Harcourt, leading to her breakthrough with the song Excess Love in 2017.
She accused Eezeetee of fraudulently altering their contract in 2019, extending it without her consent and granting him lifetime ownership of her music. Despite attempts at reconciliation, including mediation by Apostle Anselm Madubuko, no resolution was reached.
During an EFCC investigation in 2024, Eezeetee admitted to withholding $274,000 in digital revenue, which was eventually recovered.
He also confessed to contract manipulation but later filed lawsuits against Mercy, fellow singer Judikay, and the EFCC. The EFCC subsequently charged him with fraud, issuing and later withdrawing an arrest warrant after legal intervention.
