Kwankwaso Slams NNPP Defectors, Praises Loyalists

Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and former Kano State Governor, has strongly criticized the recent defection of key New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) figures in Kano to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Addressing loyal supporters from Takai Local Government at his residence, he expressed disappointment over the actions of those he described as abandoning the ideals and loyalty of the movement.

Kwankwaso particularly pointed to Senator Abdulrahman Kawu and other federal lawmakers from Kano who switched to the APC, accusing them of betraying the party and the masses who voted for them. He noted that despite voters in Kano South rejecting monetary inducements and material gifts, the elected officials chose self-interest over the party that brought them to power, calling their move the “highest level of betrayal.”

He, however, praised members who chose to stay or return to the NNPP, hailing their courage and loyalty to the movement. Kwankwaso warned that those who defected would eventually regret their decision, emphasizing that the Kwankwasiyya Movement remains committed to its grassroots values and public interest.
