Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has approved the immediate release of N1 million each to 31 verified Abia State indigenes whoreturnees of Abia State extraction who recently returned from South Africa.
According to the state government, the financial assistance is aimed at supporting the returnees as they settle back into their communities and rebuild their lives following their return to Nigeria.
The beneficiaries, who were verified as indigenes of Abia State, are expected to receive the funds as part of the state government’s intervention to ease the challenges associated with reintegration. The initiative underscores the government’s focus on providing immediate support to residents and indigenes facing difficult circumstances after returning from abroad.
With 31 people benefiting from the intervention, the total amount approved for the disbursement stands at N31 million. The financial support is expected to help the returnees meet pressing needs and potentially restart their livelihoods as they adjust to life back home.
