FG Screened Reno, Shehu Sani, Ipeazu, and Others for Ambassadorial Position

According to report, the Federal Government has initiated the screening of individuals nominated for diplomatic postings to address the vacant positions in Nigeria’s 76 embassies and 22 high commissions around the world. This move is part of a broader effort to restore full diplomatic representation and improve Nigeria’s presence on the global stage.

As part of the screening process, nominees have been instructed to visit their nearest Department of State Services (DSS) offices for comprehensive security checks. Several candidates have also been asked to submit detailed records of their educational background and work history to support the vetting process.

According to information obtained by Vanguard, a reliable source revealed that former governors from the South-East, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Okezie Ikpeazu, have already undergone screening for potential diplomatic appointments. In addition, the source disclosed that Shehu Sani, who recently joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, are among those considered for these roles and have also been screened.

Further reports indicate that former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Femi Pedro, and former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, have completed the screening process and have been cleared to take up new national assignments, possibly within foreign missions.
