The Lagos State Police Rapid Response Squad has arrested a 42-year-old fake military officer, Kingsley Wanogho, for abducting and robbing a young man in Ikeja. Wanogho, a dismissed army sergeant and ex-convict, was apprehended after his victim spotted him near Computer Village.
On December 30, 2024, Wanogho accused his victim of losing his gold ring and, posing as a soldier, threatened to take him to an army barracks. Instead, he and an accomplice took the victim to the Third Mainland Bridge, stole his iPhone 13 and cash, and abandoned him.
Police recovered a fake military ID and an army cap from the suspect, who had sold the stolen phone for N150,000. He has been transferred for further investigation.
