Court Grants Blessing CEO ₦20 Million Bail Over Alleged Fraud

Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja has approved the bail application of granted social media personality, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, in the sum of ₦20 million in her ongoing trial over an alleged ₦69.15 million fraud case.

after considering submissions from the defence, Justice Rahman Oshodi approved the bail applicati, noting that the court had a duty to independently assess the allegations and the punishment prescribed by law before making its decision.

Blessing CEO was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on June 9, 2026, on a two-count charge bordering on stealing and obtaining money by false pretences. According to the anti-graft agency, she allegedly obtained ₦69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited in March 2025 after claiming she would secure the lease of a property in the Lekki area of Lagos. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During the hearing of her bail application, the court sought clarification on the whereabouts of her international passport. Her defence counsel informed the court that the passport had been lost and presented an affidavit of loss, along with public notices, as evidence. After reviewing the documents, the court proceeded to grant her bail.

Justice Oshodi ruled that the defendant must provide two responsible sureties in like sum, with each surety required to submit a three-year bank statement or proof of a fixed deposit of at least ₦20 million. The court also ordered that Blessing CEO and her sureties be profiled through the Lagos State Judiciary’s Bail Information Management System and directed the Nigerian Immigration Service to enforce her travel restrictions pending the conclusion of the case. The matter was adjourned until October 12, 2026, for the continuation of trial.
