China Fills Dispute Complaint Against US Over Additional 10% Duty On Goods Originating From China

China has filled a Lawsuit With the World Trade Organization over US. additional 10% trariff on Chinese goods, according to a statement by the Commerce Ministry on Tuesday, the US latest tariff increase violates  the rules of the WTA and undermines the basis for economic and trade cooperation between China and the US.

China’s lawsuit at the WTO is a formal challenge against the U.S. tariffs imposed by President Trump, which Beijing argues violate international trade rules. Through the WTO’s dispute settlement process, China aims to demonstrate that these tariffs are inconsistent with WTO agreements and to seek remedies, potentially including the removal of the tariffs or authorization for retaliatory measures.

China asserts in the Lawsuit on Wednesday that US tariff are based on unfounded and false allegations.

This legal move is part of a broader escalation in the U.S.-China trade conflict, with both nations imposing tariffs on each other’s goods, signaling heightened tensions in their economic relations.
