Underscoring NDDC’s support for improved connectivity, regional integration, and enhanced mobility across the Niger Delta states, the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Samuel Ogbuku, joined Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, and other dignitaries at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for the launch of Bayelsa State Government Airlines, operated by 7 Star Global Airlines.
Dr. Ogbuku participated in the inaugural flight, stated that the new Abuja–Bayelsa flights are expected to boost travel convenience, commerce, investment and access, aligning with NDDC’s commitment to advancing infrastructure, economic growth, and regional development.
Earlier in October 2025, Governor Diri said his administration was determined to make the Bayelsa International Airport fully functional and commercially viable, stressing that the state had decided to directly operate flight services following the collapse of an earlier partnership with a private airline.
