The All Progressives Congress (APC) has shut down its national secretariat, popularly known as “Buhari House,” in Abuja, following the tragic killing of its Director of Administration, Hon. AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji. Adeniji was kidnapped weeks ago and reportedly killed last month, though the kidnappers continued negotiating a N50 million ransom while concealing his death.
In a solemn internal memo titled “Secretariat closure for the mourning of the director of administration”, the party announced the immediate suspension of all official activities until Monday, April 14, 2025. The National Secretary approved the closure, urging staff to use the mourning period for sober reflection and to pray for the strength and comfort of the deceased’s family. The incident has sparked grief and outrage within the party, with members expressing shock over the brutal loss of a senior official.
