As part of efforts to curb the production and distribution of unregistered food and beverage products, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has uncovered an alleged illegal juice production factory in Badagry, Lagos State, leading to the arrest of two female suspects.
According to the NSCDC, the facility was allegedly operating without the necessary registration and regulatory approvals required for commercial juice production. Officials reportedly discovered production materials and other items believed to be connected to the manufacturing and packaging of the beverages.
The two suspects were taken into custody for questioning as authorities investigate the activities of the facility. The NSCDC said the operation was aimed at protecting consumers from potentially unsafe products and ensuring that businesses comply with relevant regulations.
The agency warned individuals involved in the production of unregistered food and beverages to desist from such activities. It also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious production facilities or products to the appropriate authorities.
