Adamawa Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Improved Commercial Activities as Modern Wet Market Opens in
The Adamawa State Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Dr. Ishaya John Dabari, has reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to ensuring the smooth running of commercial activities across the state for the benefit of the general public.
Dr. Dabari made the statement on Friday through the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Abdulazeez Adamu Buba, who represented him at the official handing over of a newly constructed, conducive and modern wet market at the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Market in Yola North Local Government Area.
The wet market was constructed by the Adamawa State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project, under the coordination of Mr. Alpha Secondee, in collaboration with the Adamawa State Government and under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, according to a report by by Sameni Kamsobbi
Dr. Dabari expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the project was made possible under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, whom he described as the architect of modern Adamawa State.
He stated that as the custodian of markets in the state, the ministry is committed to ensuring the smooth operation of commercial activities for the benefit of all citizens.
According to him, the project is a people-oriented social investment aimed at providing meat handlers with a conducive and hygienic working environment while ensuring safe meat handling for public consumption.
He added that the facility would also help boost commercial activities and contribute to the economic development of the state.
Dr. Dabari urged butchers and other users to make good use of the facility and not take the project for granted.
Speaking at the event, the Adamawa State L-PRES Coordinator, Mr. Alpha Secondee, said the project is being officially handed over to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry after its successful completion.
Also speaking at the event, the Public Relations Officer of the Butchers Association, Adamawa State Chapter, Safiyanu Sali, expressed appreciation to the Adamawa State Government and the L-PRES Coordinator for the initiative.
He assured that the association would ensure proper maintenance of the facility so that it remains beneficial for many years to come.
