Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Ayebo, popularly known as Yemi My Lover, has publicly expressed disappointment with Nigerian music star Olamide for allegedly ignoring him after using his name in a song. In a recent interview, Yemi revealed that although many artistes and skit makers have referenced his name over the years, he has never received any form of appreciation or compensation for the use of his identity.

Yemi recounted how Fuji icon Pasuma once inquired if he had been “settled” by Olamide after the music star referenced him in a track. When he said no, Pasuma immediately called Olamide, allowing Yemi to speak with the rapper for the first time. During the call, Olamide asked Yemi to collect his phone number from Pasuma and promised to stay in touch.
However, despite reaching out for over six months through calls and messages, Yemi said Olamide never responded. He noted that his name is widely used in pop culture because it is divinely blessed, and while he felt honored by the mentions, he believes he deserved recognition and respect for his legacy.
