A Southern California family is mourning the loss of their 13-year-old son, Nnamdi Glenn Ohaeri Jr., who was found unresponsive in his bedroom on February 3.

His parents suspect he died after attempting a hazardous social media challenge, similar to the “Blackout Challenge,” which has been linked to multiple fatalities. Although Ohaeri Jr. had no social media accounts and his phone had strict parental controls, his family believes he may have learned about the challenge from peers.
His grieving parents now urge other families to educate their children about the hidden dangers of social media trends and peer pressure. While authorities have not yet determined the official cause of death, the tragedy has left the family grappling with guilt and unanswered questions.
