San Diego FC (SDFC) has announced that Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Tems has joined the club’s ownership group through her company, The Leading Vibe. The two-time GRAMMY winner and Oscar-nominated artist will serve as a Club Partner, bringing her creative vision and passion for community to the world of soccer. She becomes the FIRST African female to be involved in MLS ownership.

SDFC Chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour praised Tems as a “globally significant artist” who will help the club connect with new audiences, particularly through its ties to Africa via the Right to Dream organization. CEO Tom Penn highlighted her dedication to empowering young talent and fostering cultural connections through sport.

Tems expressed excitement about the opportunity, stating that football has a unique way of uniting people, and she looks forward to building something special in San Diego.
She joins a distinguished list of Club Partners, including actress Issa Rae, former footballer Juan Mata, retired U.S. Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, and MLB All-Star Manny Machado. Her involvement is in partnership with Pave Investments, an African private investment firm.
Tems’ addition aligns with SDFC’s mission to unite communities through sport and culture while continuing to expand the global influence of the Right to Dream Academy.
