A 58-year-old man, Adeleye Alani, reportedly took his own life by jumping into a well in the Ori-Osoko Community, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on March 12, 2025. His wife, Adetoyin Taiwo Adeleye, discovered he was missing upon returning home the previous night, and a search led to the discovery of his slippers near the well.
The deceased’s brother reported the incident to the police, who later recovered Alani’s body and deposited it in a morgue. The Ogun State Police Command expressed condolences to the family and urged residents to seek emotional and psychological support during difficult times. An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
