The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a woman, Augustina Mowari, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death during a heated argument over suspected infidelity. The incident occurred on Sunday in Okitipupa, the headquarters of the Okitipupa Local Government Area. According to the police, the suspect used a pair of scissors to stab the victim during a dispute.

Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the arrest, noting that the suspect is currently in custody and an investigation is ongoing. He stated that the disagreement between the couple turned violent, resulting in Michael being stabbed in the leg. The victim was initially treated and discharged from a hospital before his condition worsened.
A reliable source revealed that Augustina and Michael had been living together in a one-room apartment and had a history of ongoing disputes, mostly stemming from issues of trust and suspected infidelity. The latest altercation reportedly began when the woman accused her partner of cheating on her, which quickly escalated into violence.
After the stabbing, Michael was taken to a nearby hospital where he received treatment and was later discharged. However, his health declined after returning home, with his leg becoming severely swollen. He was rushed back to the hospital on Sunday night, where he unfortunately died despite medical efforts to revive him. The police have said the case will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
