Wike Rejects Tompolo’s Appeal for Reconciliation with Fubara

Former militant leader Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) called for reconciliation between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, urging peace for the sake of the state.

However, Wike rejected this appeal, stating that forgiveness requires an acknowledgment of wrongdoing, which Fubara has not made. Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, clarified that the minister’s concerns were based on governance principles, not personal grievances.

Olayinka emphasized that Fubara had not sought forgiveness for any offense, and any issue between them stemmed from Fubara’s governance actions rather than personal animosity. Wike’s position remains that Fubara should focus on the rule of law and not disregard those who supported his rise to power.
