VDM And MR Jolloff May Face Prosecution After In-flight Altercation

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) strongly condemned the behavior of VeryDarkMan (Martins Otse) and comedian Mr Jollof (Freedom Atsepoyi) after engaging in a physical fight aboard a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos.

NCAA stressing that unruly conduct on aircraft violates aviation safety rules. According to the Civil Aviation Act 2022, violent acts onboard that endanger safety attract fines of up to ₦2 million or imprisonment of up to five years, while interfering with crew duties can lead to smaller fines or minimum jail terms. NCAA spokesperson Michael Achimugu emphasized that the fight was especially disappointing given the pair’s public roles as influencers who address responsible behavior.

United Nigeria Airlines reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy for any conduct that compromises safety, noting that both passengers were immediately deboarded to protect others. The clash is believed to stem from ongoing online disagreements between the two personalities. The incident adds to a growing list of unruly behavior cases in Nigeria’s aviation sector, including a recent confrontation involving Fuji star KWAM 1 and another case where a passenger assaulted a flight attendant after refusing to turn off her phone.
