Pope Leo, US Officials, And Nicki Minaj Raise Global Concerns On Alleged Persecution of Christians In Nigeria

Following the growing concern aligns with the United States’ recent designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern,” citing allegations of Christian genocide, Pope Leo XIV has condemned repeated attacks on Christian communities and worship centres, urging international cooperation to promote peace.

He called for global attention on rising violence and discrimination against Christians in countries such as Nigeria, Mozambique, Sudan, Bangladesh, and o offered prayers for victims of recent massacres in the Kivu region ofthe Democratic Republic of Congo, called for an end to all forms of violence.

Meanwhile, American rapper Nicki Minaj is set to address the United Nations regarding jihadist attacks on Christians in Nigeria. She will speak alongside U.S. Ambassador Michael Waltz and Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz. Waltz praised Minaj for using her influence to speak against injustice, while Minaj expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying she would not stay silent in the face of oppression. The event adds further international pressure as U.S. officials continue to question Nigeria’s stance on the issue.
